Starting in the fall of 2007, the entrance at Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown will be redesigned, allowing season pass holders to drive through in their own lane, and not have to wait in line behind vehicles buying a daily pass. The upgrade also will provide for easy access by the new FlexRoute buses.
“The Herring Cove upgrade will be much more user friendly than what we have now,” Chief Ranger Stephen Prokop said.
FlexRoute buses, he said, will stop at Race Point and Head of the Meadow, in addition to Herring Cove.
The entry fee per vehicle will remain at $15 this year, he said, noting that walk-ins and bike-ins are supposed to pay $3 each to enter the Seashore.
“We tend to not collect that, because we don’t have the staff to do it,” he said.
